Saints Row 4 had Gat out of Hell - standalone. That is was meant to be added to UC4 as DLC but was created as a standalone on a separate disc or download. Uncharted 4 had DLC, which was the Lost Legacy. It's all one product, I can't access the sleeves without the base. One could easily say that about any product ("This shirt cost 39.99 but you're only paying for the base, the sleeves are free of charge as a standalone"). From the term of acquisition, you cannot get the "standalone" without a paywall of GTA V. In business terms for legality sake, it's separate due to its ever changing climate. Black Ops multiplayer must also be a standalone game by this logic right? If ANYONE thinks Rockstar can't afford to keep the lights on when their head honchos are being paid hundreds upon millions of dollars it's laughable.Īlso, GTA Online is NOT a stand alone game, its the multiplayer to GTA V. Microtransactions do NOT benefit the devs, only the higher ups. and that's the future of gaming? Paying money for shortcuts smh.Ħ0% of the profits from GTA Online goes into Strauss Zelnick's pocket with the rest being divided between Take Two and the Houser Brothers. Since their game will be ready by next year, SHG potentially gets a bit longer to work on their next game. Treyarch is a small team that does a lot of outsourcing. There are no "Are You Sure?" options because R&D and QA people across the industry has found that people do not like to be asked if they are sure that they want to do what they just told the game to do.īlack Ops 4 ditched the SP campaign because it would not have been ready. Criminal Enterprise was bought by me, and I am taking advantage of Twitch Prime stuff, too. I am not one of them, however, I also do not have a lot of time to play video games, either. Plastic players pay for you to play for free, they are unsung heroes in today's market. Otherwise, DLC would be paid for each drop. If no one bought shark cards, GTA Online would shut down. In other words, those who do not buy shark cards online activity is paid for and kept alive by those who buy shark cards. The shark cards are what support the game to keep it going after all the people who grind for things instead of buy GTA$ continue to run up the data bills. People who have a life outside of Los Santos who also want to experience certain things that would otherwise be completely impossible for them to ever achieve. Those are mostly bought by adults living adult lives with too much responsibility and value for their own personal time to grind it out. Kiddie cards? First I've ever heard a plastic player called that. You bought GTA V, GTA Online was shipped with it, free of charge - and most liabilities for any express warranty on that product because of it. It is a stand alone game, which was given free of charge with purchase of GTA V. Same reason COD Blops 4 dumped the campaign after spending 2 years making it, to quickly rush a battle royale with 6 months to launch - money milking machines. Single player gamers are "poor" in business mindset, they aren't the reoccurring spenders they thrive to get. Same reason why there is no "are you sure" options when purchasing stuff. Why allow people to try and test stuff in SP, they want you to make bad decisions to force you to spend money and grind/buy shark cards. The only reason they don't add to SP is because it makes no money for kiddie cards. You cannot gain access to GTAO without GTAV prior purchase. If they released for free (or cost) separately, then it is standalone. Only because they "designed" it to be, they still made the paywall of purchasing the game with it. It is not a standalone game in its current form. The best we can hope is that it doesn't break GTA V more. That said, it's GTA Online feature, I highly doubt it will go to single player. Who knows what GTA V would have been like had the focus been on GTA V instead of GTA Online + a story mode that delivered it. Actually, GTA Online was supposed to be released stand-alone in 2011. GTA Online is a stand alone game Buying GTA V granted access to GTA Online.
